Here's the best response I have gotten so far as to how one might use a
GUI to select an address and then zoom to it.

"under your theme properties menu is an option for geocoding.under this
there is a host of other options.the us single house options allows
you to indicate the street number, street name and street type fields
from your data sets.On your view menu,it adds a pin button that when
you press it,brings up a box that prompts the user to enter street
number,street name and street type and then if the record exists,it
zooms to the property and places a dot on it."

I also found that by altering the view.find script so it does not zoom
in so close to work as well.
